What is the process timeline for eligibility?

  • This depends on you. The faster you return the requested documents to the Equus representative the faster you will move through the eligibility process.

  • Once you are determined to be eligible, you will be enrolled and can start receiving services.

  • This is a two-step process

  • Once you are determined to be eligible, a career coach will work with you to determine if you are suitable for participation in WIOA

What is my commitment to participating in the WIOA program?

  • Your success in the WIOA program depends on how much you are willing to put into it.

  • Your commitment begins when you start the eligibility process. Returning requested documents is important.

  • Once you are enrolled and assigned to work with a career coach, you can expect to start working towards goals and meeting on a regular basis with your career coach.

  • An Equus representative will continue following up with you for one year after you complete your training to determine if you need additional services.

What kind of training is available?

  • WIOA is a work-based program that provides opportunities to gain certifications.

  • WIOA is not a college scholarship program. WIOA is not an entitlement program.

  • Some of the training programs available are certified nursing assistant, commercial driver’s license training, and help with trade apprenticeships.

How do I know if I am eligible?

  • You must be 18 years of age or older,

  • eligible to work in the United States,

  • be an Idaho resident, and

  • have complied with Selective Service requirements.

What initial documents do i need to provide for eligibility?

For General Eligibility, there are 4 initial criteria that a Career Coach will need to prove in your first appointment with them:

  • That you are 18 Years or older.​

  • That you are authorized to work in the U.S.

  • That you have complied with Selective Service Registration requirements.

  • That you are an Idaho Resident.

Below are a list of acceptable documents that may be used to prove each of the above criteria:

Proof of Age 18+:

Please have one of the following documents to prove age.

  • Valid Driver’s License

  • Valid Identification Card

  • U.S. Passport

  • Birth Certificate

  • DD-214 (with discharge other than dishonorable)

  • School Records/School ID Card

  • Alien Registration Card

  • Valid Work Permit

  • Tribal Records

U.S. Work Authorization:

Please have one of the following documents to prove U.S. Work Authorization.

  • Driver’s License/ID Card and Social Security Card together

  • U.S. Passport

  • Permanent Resident Card

  • Alien Registration Receipt Card

  • School ID and Social Security Card together

  • School ID and Birth Certificate together

  • Military/Dependent ID Card and Social Security Card together

  • Military/Dependent ID Card and Birth Certificate together

Selective Service Registration:

Please have one of the following documents to prove compliance with the Selective Service Registration requirements.​

  • SSS Registration Card

  • DD-214 (with discharge other than dishonorable)

Please have one of the following documents to prove Idaho Residency.

  • Idaho Driver’s License

  • Current Utility Bill

  • Idaho State/Gov’t ID

  • Current Lease Agreement
